Dave currently works as a Programme Officer for the International Committee of the Red Cross, based in Belfast.
Previously, Dave worked for over a decade on grassroots community projects with a range of groups that included: young people, migrant workers, men’s groups, women’s groups, political ex-prisoner groups, senior citizens, schools, and community groups. He has facilitated workshops and courses on the following topics: Non-violence; Peacemaking; Creative Thinking; Anti-racism; Anti-sectarianism; Community Relations; and Personal Development. He has taught two courses on Peacemaking for the School of Open Learning at Queen’s University, Belfast.
Dave holds a degree in Theology and Psychology from the University of Southampton (1998), a Masters in Philosophy on Martin Luther King Jr.’s Philosophy of Nonviolence from Queen’s University, Belfast (2002), and a PhD on Loyalism and Masculinities from the University of Aberdeen (2013).
